Dance Therapy

This is a wonderful opportunity for special needs children to enrich their lives through learning the art of dance in a friendly and positive atmosphere. Though this course your child will gain confidence, social skills, balance, and strength. These classes will be engaging, fun, and creative. The main focus of the class will be on flexibility, breathing techniques, and basic ballet. Through proper stretching technique the children will gain core strength and better mobility. In addition, we will also be learning how to breath properly through learned breathing technique. These will help your children maintain proper breathing pattern during exercises to keep the body oxygenated and healthy.

The class will consist of one main instructor to guide the class through areas of studies. Each student will have a mentor who will reinforce and assist each child on a one-on-one step basis, to insure their success. Freedom of Movement Dance Academy is thrilled to provide this exciting new class at no charge to you. We (our Instructors and Mentors) know we will grow and learn together. We are looking forward to new experiences and lasting memories through the beautiful art of dance.

You may enroll your child by contacting Freedom of Movement at 706-769-5338. Our office hours are from 3:30pm - 7:30pm Monday through Thursday. Feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns you may have. This class is being taught by volunteers who are training to teach special needs children and are eager to share their love of dance with others. Any special needs child in Grade 3 and up is eligible to take this complimentary dance class. Classes will begin on December 8th and will meet every Friday from 4:30-5:30. You may join this class at anytime. Please keep in mind the studio closes December 22nd-January 7 to observe the holiday school schedule.
